Lucy
Lucy has dedicated her career to understanding dogs and promoting positive, welfare-focused care. Her journey began by volunteering with a trainer affiliated with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, where she developed a strong foundation in canine behaviour, body language, calming signals, and appropriate social interaction.
She later established her own pet services business in Southampton, gaining extensive hands-on experience working with a wide variety of breeds, temperaments, and behavioural needs. Throughout her career, Lucy has continued to expand her knowledge through ongoing professional development and was previously a member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT).
Having grown up with rescue dogs and Boxers, Lucy now shares her life with an Akita, a rescue dog from Cyprus and a Malinois cross. Over the years, she has enjoyed ,participating in a range of canine activities including the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme, Tellington TTouch®, scent work, agility, and competitive flyball.
As Co-Founder of ScenterBarks, Lucy is passionate about creating a safe, enriching, and structured environment where dogs can develop confidence, build positive social skills, and enjoy meaningful interactions.
Her commitment to understanding canine behaviour helps ensure every dog attending our Winchester dog daycare receives the highest standard of care, supervision, and enrichment.
Nikki
Nikki’s passion for dogs began over 20 years ago when she assisted at dog training classes led by a respected trainer affiliated with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). This early experience sparked a lifelong interest in canine behaviour, welfare, and positive dog care practices.
In 2006, Nikki established her own pet care business, providing professional care for hundreds of dogs across Hampshire. Through years of hands-on experience, she has developed a deep understanding of the needs, personalities and behaviours of a wide range of breeds.
Nikki currently shares her home with a Pug, a Bichon and an Akita and has previously rescued and cared for numerous dogs of different breeds and backgrounds. These experiences have given her valuable insight into the unique requirements of each dog and reinforced her belief that every dog deserves personalised care and understanding.
As Co-Founder of ScenterBarks, Nikki has a particular interest in canine behaviour, communication, and body language.
She regularly attends training seminars, behaviour workshops, Tellington TTouch® courses, and Canine First Aid training to ensure her knowledge remains current and aligned with best practices in the industry.
Nikki is passionate about providing a safe, enriching, and fun environment where dogs can thrive. Her commitment to high standards of care has helped establish ScenterBarks as a trusted choice for dog daycare and dog walking services in Winchester and the surrounding Hampshire area.
Tyeisha
Ty joined the ScenterBarks team in 2016 after completing her Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management. Since then, she has become an integral part of the business and now leads the team as Centre Leader, overseeing the day-to-day care of all the dogs at the centre and supporting the staff who look after them.

With a huge passion for dogs and their wellbeing, Ty works hard to ensure every dog receives safe, attentive and enjoyable care. She is also trained in canine first aid and is a fantastic problem-solver, always ready to support the team and find a practical solution whenever one is needed.
One of Ty’s favourite parts of her role is getting plenty of cuddles from the dogs and spending each day surrounded by people who are just as dog-crazy as she is. She has a particular soft spot for Whippets and Dachshunds and loves getting to know the individual personalities of all the dogs who visit ScenterBarks.
Outside of work, Ty enjoys spending time with her family and exploring different arts and crafts. She also has plenty of animals waiting for her at home, including her much-loved Weimaraner cross, Delta, as well as fish and turtles.
Ty’s experience, leadership and genuine passion for dogs make her a vital member of the ScenterBarks team. Her ability to care for the dogs, support the staff and keep everything running smoothly helps us provide trusted dog daycare and dog walking services across Winchester and the surrounding Hampshire area.
Jill
Jill joined the ScenterBarks team in Autumn 2018 and has become a valued member of the team, building strong relationships with both our dogs and their owners.
One of the things she enjoys most about her role is developing bonds with the dogs in her care and seeing their excitement when she arrives to collect them for their walks or daycare adventures.
After deciding on a career change, Jill studied Animal Management at Sparsholt College, where she gained valuable knowledge in animal care and welfare. Following her studies, she worked in kennels before joining ScenterBarks, where she discovered her passion for working with dogs and helping them enjoy safe, enriching, and fun experiences.
Jill particularly enjoys spending time with energetic and enthusiastic breeds, with Spaniels and Whippets among her favourites. She loves watching dogs explore, play, and build confidence during their time with the ScenterBarks team.
Outside of work, Jill enjoys a quieter pace of life and can often be found trying new crafts, especially knitting. Although she doesn’t currently own a dog of her own, she shares her home with two much-loved cats, Chinju and Beep, who keep her entertained when she’s not spending time with the dogs at ScenterBarks.
Jill’s caring nature, dedication, and genuine love of animals make her a fantastic member of the ScenterBarks team, helping us provide trusted dog daycare and dog walking services across Winchester and the surrounding Hampshire area.
Gareth
Gareth started working at ScenterBarks in 2017. He is a huge animal enthusiast and has a lot of love and passion for looking after all creatures! He has a BSC in animal management and has previous experience working at a local animal charity for 7 years where he helped rescue dogs find their forever families.
Gareth loves that he gets to be with the dogs every day, building bonds and watching each of them as they grow and become part of the daycare family.
As well as working with the amazing daycare team each day and seeing how much each of them loves working with the dogs as much as I do.
Gareth owns a Rottweiler cross Springer Spaniel called Phoebe.
In his spare time Gareth loves helping his friend look after their 4 horses, walking with his dog and friends and is a novice twitcher and likes to learn about watching wild birds both in the UK and abroad (mainly Southern Africa).
He is also currently a committee member on the board of trustees for St Francis Animal Welfare and actively contribute to their fundraising efforts so as you can see, Gareth is very busy with a animal filled life!
